Understand the importance of Kumkum

In Hinduism great importance is given to the act of applying Tilak and wearing of Kumkum irrespective of gender. The belief as accorded to it by the great masters is that it activates certain parts of the body which is essential for worship. In Esoteric Yoga or Hatha Yoga, there is the concept of seven power centers within the body that is called Chakras and there are seven such in our bodies.
