Specific Pooja utensils are used with a purpose

We have all seen during pujas at home or at social events gleaming golden-colored brass utensils giving a regal touch to the Anusthana. Although that has always been the traditional metal of choice for all pujas off late people are replacing it with stainless steel utensils. Nevertheless, it is to be noted that all ancient scriptures and religious texts clearly say that brass utensils are too used. It's an amazing thing that all the many rules and regulations of Hindu worship may look bewildering to others but all the methods and systems adopted have a valid reason and logic behind them. For instance, a copper bowl with water has Holy basil leaves dipped in it and this is often given to people as a Prasada, which is supposed to have a medicating effect on people with diabetes.

There is a definite reason for using Brass utensils

Similarly in Hindu ritual worship, people are using Brass Utensils for ages and they know that it has a valid reason for their use. Food offerings, Flowers, Tilak, and so many other things are usually kept in these brass utensils which are then given to the people attending the puja or within a family. Hence these are cleaned very well to ensure it is spotlessly clean and safe for use and doesn’t affect the Prasada items contained in them. As a metal, brass is said to attract spiritual energy that is generated during the pooja and produces positive vibes in whatever it contains. Also, food cooked in brass pots and pans imparts a positive vibe in them and activates the inherent goodness within the food being cooked.

How to clean Pooja items? Cleaning pooja utensils made easy and effortless

Cleaning brass using the traditional method of using Imli-Ras or Tamarind pulp is tedious and laborious as well as time-consuming. The modern and easiest way to do this is by using Muktambari powder or liquid which can bring a shine to any brass object in minutes. People often have deities made of brass, cleaning these become very by simply applying Muktambari powder and polishing them with a dry cloth. Muktambari is however very special as it can clean not just brass, but iron utensils, Silver, Copper, and steel. Further, the formulation contains herbal extracts of Lime, Shikakai, Aloe Vera, Neem, etc.
